

Everett Stanley Mayeux a resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Ollie Steel Burden Manor after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 79. He was born in Plaucheville, Avoyelles Parish, to parents Stanley Mayeux and Anola Kimball. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve from 1960 – 1966. He was a man who enjoyed his work, operating his company Mayeux Plumbing Inc. for over 50 years with his son Brett. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and boating in Grand Isle. Everett is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Carolyn (Gerome), and three children: Brett and finance’ Andrea Falcon, Michelle Sheets and husband Stephen, and Melissa Mayeux Anders of Houston , TX,; seven grandchildren: Danielle Mayeux, Toni and spouse Evan Michaelson, Kamron and Kylee Mayeux, Zachary Sheets, Blake Sheets, and Vanessa Anders. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor and the Amedysis nurses for their care and support. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday evening, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be on October 20, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 10:00 am until a mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital area (alzbr.org) or to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org/donate) to help fund research.
