
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he died at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 88, born Aug. 13, 1922, in Lutcher. He was a resident of Baton Rouge, a World War II veteran and a data processor with Exxon for 38 years. After his retirement he volunteered at City Café in Plaquemine where he loved visiting with the customers. Visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 11:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jerry Martin. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Elmire Bourgeois; foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Waguespack; granddaughter, Wendy Marie Best; and three brothers, Lutcher Bourgeois, Edward Bourgeois and Robert Bourgeois. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Castello Bourgeois; three daughters, Pam Glover, Melanie Best and Stephanie Miranda, and their husbands, Barry Glover, Jim Best and Charles Miranda. He is also survived by his brother, A.J. Bourgeois; nine grandchildren, Derek Glover, Ashleigh Glover Honore, Jimmy Best, Scott Best, Angel Best Blevins, Shelly Best, Tiffany Best, Kylee Miranda and Cody Miranda; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Best, Scott Best, Derek Glover, Cody Miranda, Jim Best and Barry Glover.
