

Frances Eleanor Erwin Galloway was born January 27, 1924, in Hope, Arkansas to Agnes Eleanor Bates Erwin and Arthur Clarence Erwin. She was married to Doyle Lee Galloway. Frances passed away peacefully on March 16 in Mobile Alabama. She had attained the age of 102 having celebrated her birthday in January with family and friends. Frances worked many years as a legal secretary, ending her career as an office manager for a major law firm in Baton Rouge. She was active in the Baptist Church, serving as a pianist, working in the nursery, and teaching Sunday School classes, most recently the Co-Workers at First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. She was a lifelong lover of books, reading, and libraries. Frances was preceded in death by Doyle, her husband of 66 years, and by her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Harold Walker. Frances and Doyle had six children: Michael Galloway (Tommye), Sandra Hill (Jerry), Janice Galloway, Elaine Galloway (Ray Hare), Dianne Schlatre (Charles) and Marilyn Galloway (David Martin) Grandchildren: Christopher Galloway, Ashley Minvielle, Stephanie Leaf, Jeffrey Suggs, Jonathan Suggs, Amanda Weaver, Lindsey Norsworthy; Ava Erickson, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family sends heartfelt thanks to all hospice and medical personnel who provided excellent care for Frances. Also, thanks to Elaine and Ray for their exceptional contribution of caring for Frances. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to your favorite library or to the charity of your choice. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10am at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, followed by a reception at Greenoaks Life Celebration Reception Center.
