The former director of theBethanyWorldPrayerCenterfood bank and a resident of Port Allen, she died at 2:59 p.m.Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. She was 79 and a native ofBlytheville, Ark.A graveside service will be held atBethanyCemeteryin Baker on Saturday, April 28, at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chuck Stearns. She is survived by a son, Cecil Weems of Urbana, Ohio; sister, Louise Catlingers of Texarkana, Texas; adopted daughter, Nyla Jo Chustz of Port Allen; adopted grandson, Jim Allen Chustz of Port Allen; and adopted granddaughter, Mona Neal of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Travis Weems; a son, Danny Weems; and parents, Jack and Evelyn Marsh. She was a mother to many. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.
