

Francile Foote Ehricht, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, teacher, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 2, 2016 in Baton Rouge. Francile was born on May 7, 1919 to J.T. and Mary Belle Foote of Durant, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers and a sister who passed before Francile was born, leaving her an only daughter. Francile grew up in Durant, OK and graduated from the Hockaday School in Dallas. Francile then attended SMU in Dallas, where she was extremely involved in many activities including Women's Self-Governing Board, Vice President of Kappa Alpha Theta, and was voted one of the "Big Four in Favorites" of SMU students. While attending SMU, Francile met John Theodore Ehricht, who would become her husband before being deployed to Europe in World War II. During his tour of duty, Francile gave birth to their daughter. They settled in Dallas after the war, where their son was born. Having graduated with a business degree from SMU, Francile pursued her love for the Latin language and served as chairman of the Latin Department at the Hockaday School for many years and later founded the Latin Department at Episcopal School of Dallas. After retiring from teaching, Francile enjoyed being a full time grandmother and great-grandmother. She moved to Baton Rouge in 1986, and became a supportive member at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Francile was an also active member of the PEO, Chapter C, where she served as president. As the daughter of a nurseryman, Francile enjoyed gardening, and in 1955 won two first prizes in the Greenway Garden Club of Dallas. She also enjoyed counted cross stitching, flower arranging, life-writing, and bridge. Francile felt her greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Francile is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Theodore Ehricht, Jr. Francile is survived by her children Mary Jane Fally of Dallas and John Foote Ehricht and his wife Rachel of Baton Rouge, five grandchildren; Jean Michel Fally and wife Veronique of Dallas, Marc Fally and wife Hyeseon of Chicago, Fred Fally of Miami, Bryan Ehricht and wife Lindsey of Hammond, LA, David Ehricht and wife Laney of Asheville, NC, and five great-grandchildren; Gauthier Fally, Claire Fally, Teddy Ehricht, George Ehricht, and Benjamin Bryant-Ehricht. Francile's surviving nieces and nephews are Susan Foote Morrison, Jack Foote, Joe Foote, Jerry Kay Foote Hutchinson and Elizabeth Foote Waldenville. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Tuesday July 5th with service at 11:00 AM. A service will be held in Dallas on Wednesday July 6th at the Aria Funeral Home at 10 AM in Dallas, TX with visitation at 9AM and a graveside service at Restland in Dallas. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Donations may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, PEO or the charity of your choice. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, is in charge of arrangements.
