

"Francis J. Daly, MD, a native of Boston, MA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on July 3, 2018 at the age of 76. Francis graduated from Boston College and Tufts Medical School, and served in the Vietnam War for the United States Air Force as a medical officer. He was a practicing surgeon for 46 years. He was married to his wife Annie for 42 years until her passing in 2010. He was a persistent golfer, avid reader, and an amateur historian. He was quick with a joke and never short with a story. He was a proud Irish Bostonian, a world traveler, and knower of the most interesting facts, depending on your perspective. He is survived by his daughter, MaryJo Ostrowe and husband Adam of Baton Rouge; sons, Patrick Daly and wife Janell of Erie, CO, and Thomas Daly of Littleton, CO; granddaughters, Meghan Daly of Erie, CO, and Josephine Ostrowe of Baton Rouge; grandsons, Ryan Daly of Erie, CO, Quinn Ostrowe and Jack Ostrowe of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Denise Daly; brother, Robert G. Daly; and sister, Mary C. Leahey. A visitation will be on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, from 9:00 a.m. until a Funeral Mass at 11:00. The mass will be celebrated by Reverend Nutan Minj. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
