
"Fritz Albert Garrett, Jr., born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana of the union of Fritz Albert Garrett and Adella Elizabeth Richardson Garrett January 5th, 1924, died October 12th, 2016 in Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Garrett Cunningham. He is survived by his loving wife, Genevieve Marie LeBlanc Garrett, brothers Sidney Richardson Garrett and George William Garrett, sons Lane Frederick Garrett and his wife Rebecca, Dennis Albert Garrett and his wife Patricia, Randal Charles Garrett and his wife Virginia, Gregg William Garrett and his wife Tracie, and by his devoted daughter, Annette Aline Garrett Franklin and her husband Milton. He was a most caring and generous son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Navy with a primary assignment to the US Battleship 62 New Jersey. He was employed by and retired from Exxon Chemical Plant with 35 years of loyal service. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. As to Mr. Garrett's wish, in lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation of your choice. His family gives heartfelt appreciative thanks to the good people of Bridgeway. Visitation will occur in Baton Rouge at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Boulevard, commencing noon Saturday, October 15th, and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial with Father Eddie Martin at one-o'clock. Then, with burial to follow in the St. George Catholic Church cemetery, 7808 St. George Drive.
