

Gary Lee Elliott, born March 30, 1946 in Battle Creek, MI passed away December 24, 2021 surrounded by family. Gary was a resident of Louisiana over 40 years. In that time, he worked for Ethyl Corporation and Ferrara Fire Fighting Equipment before retiring from the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Gary served in the Air Force, was a volunteer fire fighter for the Central area, and was a member of St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Renee Elliott; daughter Kim Elliott; son Robert Elliott and wife Bridget; stepdaughter Nikki Barton Cullen and husband Sean; stepdaughter Ashley Barton; and 7 grandchildren- Tyler Elliott, Shane Elliott, Cory Elliott, Alana Elliott, Isabelle Cullen, Adam Cullen, and Danielle Cullen. Gary was a man of action-he had a strong work ethic, provided for his family, and fought daily physical issues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and picking on the ones he loved. Gary never met a stranger. We will miss his laugh, his bad jokes, and just his very presence. The family would like to thank Dr. Rigby, Dr. Surakanti, and the staff at the Heart and Vascular Critical Care unit at OLOL for the care and support Gary and his family received. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 9595 Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, December 29 from 5-8pm, and Thursday, December 30 from 9-10am followed by funeral and burial. Pallbearers will be Robert Elliott, Cory Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Sean Cullen, Dominic Messina, and TK Devall. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Elliott and Adam Cullen.
