Geraldine “Jerry” Theresa LaCombe entered eternal peace and rest on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her family in prayer. She was born in Baton Rouge in 1940 and was 85 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Gass and Edward Albert Gros; her brother Walter Gros; her sister, Betty Lecompte; granddaughter, Courtnie Seymour; and ex-husband of 43 years, Donnie Mitchell LaCombe. She is survived by her children Donnie Edward LaCombe (Cindy), Dina LaCombe LeJeune (Darryl), Chris Anthony LaCombe (Michelle) and Tony Mitchell LaCombe (Terri). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jerry was a devout Catholic, who prayed the rosary often and went to Catholic school at St. Gerard and Redemptorist High School. She was a dedicated stay at home mother for most of her life but also worked in over 20 movies as an extra including Everybody's All American, Steel Magnolias and Pelican Brief when they were being filmed in Louisiana. She was a beautiful movie star, even at the age of 85. She was so beautiful she competed in the Mrs. Baton Rouge Beauty Pageant in the 1970's and placed in the top 3. Jerry was an avid bowler and proudly carried a160 average. She enjoyed bowling with her family on league teams at Plank Bowl, Circle Bowl and Don Carters. Anyone that knew her would know that calling her the "Life of the Party" was an understatement; she was the party. She was always the first person on the dance floor and the last to leave the party, including the Ascension Council on Aging Dance she attended with her beloved cousin, Pat Bordelon, just 3 weeks ago in Gonzales. Geraldine was an Elvis Presley "fanatic". She had a huge collection of Elvis scarves from the concerts she attended. "Love Me Tender" was one of her favorites and "For my Darling, We Love You and We Always Will". Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, October 17th from 12 pm until 8 pm.
