Gloria Ann Wells

Gloria "Glo" Branch Wells, 63, esteemed credit manager of more than 15 years for a local concrete company, passed from this life into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 23, 2010. Gloria was born in Long Leaf, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Istrouma High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend and was revered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering devotion to her family, honesty, generosity and compassion were merely a few of the characteristics she exemplified each day of her life, and will forever be ingrained in our hearts and minds. The void she left cannot be filled. Gloria is survived by her husband, Donald Wells; daughter, Tonya Lynn and husband Ken Castellano; grandson, Nickolas Alexander Castellano; sisters, Alice Hutchins, and Beth Borrel and husband Roy; brother, Hubert "Hubie" Branch and wife Janice; stepdaughters, Donna and her husband, Bob Hughes, and Dee and her husband, Dave Fellows; stepson, Donald Jr. and his wife, Stacie; and a host of nieces, nephews and stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Margaret Branch. Special acknowledgement and heartfelt thanks are made to lifelong friends C.J. Perque, Melba McGrew and Linda Champagne, as well as the entire "Tin Can Alley Gang." Our gratitude for their unwavering love and support throughout the years, and especially these last few weeks, cannot be expressed in words or in this time of loss. "To the soul there is hardly anything more healing than friendship." The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of nurses, doctors and assistants at the pulmonary wing of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and the staff at Promise Hospital of Baton Rouge for the excellent, compassionate care they provided. Gloria, may perpetual light shine upon you for all eternity and may you "Glo" in heaven as you did on Earth. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 11am till Memorial Services at 2pm.
