Gordon Bakewell Winston, Jr.

"Gordon Bakewell Winston, Jr., native and resident of Baton Rouge passed away on March 21, 2017 at the age of 78 due to a heart attack. This sweet southern gentleman was surrounded by his family. Gordon attended LSU and retired in the Engineering field. He was a devoted husband for 50 years. Gordon raised 3 daughters whom all felt very close to their dad, Morrell McCool, Karen Cambre, and Ann Winston. He was a proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Bridget Reine, Jeremy Barbay, Bryce McCool, Jessica Norred, Cody Cambre, Matthew Cambre, Curtis Cambre, Raina Cambre, Heather Blocker, and Christina Clayton; 8 great grandchildren, Gavin, Landon, Brooklyn and Payton Reine, Brayden, Ryleigh, and Adeline Barbay, and Jordan Reed. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Bakewell Winston and Alice Gibson Winston; and his wife, Lorraine Saizan Winston. The family would like to thank Rhonda Selders for her exceptional care and for loving Gordon so much, he truly loved her too. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive Baton Rouge, Louisiana  70809 beginning at 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial, conducted by Father Mike Schatzle, at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at St. George Church Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Cody Cambre, Matthew Cambre, Curtis Cambre, and Heather Blocker.
