Greg Richard, native of Church Point, LA and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on November 17, 2023 at the age of 61. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judy A. Richard; mother, Madeline Latiolais Richard; children, Caitlin Renard and husband Mike, and Taylor Richard and wife Madison; three granddaughters, Carter and Charlie Richard and Aubrey Renard; his sister, Kathy Denny and husband Steve; brother-in-law, Randy Richard and wife Lisa; and his nieces and nephews, Hannah Castille, Adam Castille, Becky Fritter, Joey Richard, and John Phillip Richard. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Robert Richard; and his mother and father-in-law, Iris Hebert Richard and John Carol Richard.
Greg was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, a brother of the ACTS community, and a volunteer of Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center. He was a Vice President at Kenan Advantage Group where he spent 29 years of a fulfilling career. Greg enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his “grand girls”, whom lovingly called him “Pops”. He was always there to lend a helping hand, and teach others his carpentry and home project skills. Greg will be remembered for his great smile, selfless and calming nature, kind heart, and loving spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 5 pm until 8 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm, and will continue on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 Harrells Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Our Lady of Sacred Heart, 2101 Lawtell Highway (Hwy 35), Church Point, LA 70525.
