Guy Richard Helouin

Passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born on June 22, 1921 to Jane Carville Helouin and Andrew James Helouin, Sr. He was a 1938 graduate of Catholic High School and a graduate of LSU School of Chemical Engineering. He retired from Exxon Corporation in 1971. He then went to work for the City Parish Government as a Computer Programmer. He served his country in World War II as a member of the United States Navy, Pacific Arena. After his retirement from the City of Baton Rouge, he donated some of his time working at the Food Bank at St. Joseph Cathedral. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He is survived by three sisters, Janice H. Madden, Frances Anne H. Medici and Mary Ursula Helouin. He is also survived by his special nephews and niece, Edward Louis Lefebvre and his partner Paul Crossman, Dr. Richard A. Lefebvre and his wife Sybil, Andrew M. Lefebvre and his wife Andrea, Paul J. Lefebvre and his wife Donna, Jane Lefebvre Sledge and their children. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, LaNelle Helouin and Maxine Helouin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joy H. Lefebvre and her husband Edward, Andrew James Helouin, Jr., Dr. M.C. Helouin and his wife Bernadette, Burt J. Helouin and brothers-in-law Daniel Madden and Anthony Medici. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children. He was a long time supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Visiting will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Thursday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. celebrated by Monsignor Gerald Lefebvre. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
