A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:20 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at St. James Place. She was 88 and was born in Glenmora. Gwendolyn was a graduate of LSU, a member of Kappa Delta sorority, the Baton Rouge Junior League and the Baton Rouge Assembly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Blanchard Turner and Vivien Blackman Turner; and husband, Robert Lucien Guidry. She is survived by her sister, Florence Turner Norwood; son, Robert Turner Guidry; daughter, Gwen Guidry Jewell; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3552 Morning Glory Ave., on Monday, June 18, from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chad Jones.
