A native of Shreveport and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at age 88. He was a retired financial manager and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and in the Korean War. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret McDonald Roberts; two daughters and a son-in-law, Madaline R. and Scott Miller, of Baton Rouge, and Margaret Ann Roberts, of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren, David Murphy, Louis Ray Murphy and Melissa Miller; and four great-grandchildren, Zane, Haze, Jettin and Maverick Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and SCORE. Visitation at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews.
