

A devoted, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, she enjoyed sewing, working in the yard, and watching sports, game shows and "The Young & the Restless." Hazel was born June 16, 1931, in LaGrange, Ga. She accepted Christ at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta and was baptized by the Rev. Martin Luther King Sr. At the age of 80, on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, she peacefully surrendered herself to the Lord. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes on Friday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m. until funeral service in the chapel at 9 a.m. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Repast will follow at 11445 Honore Lane. She is survived by a son, Perry E. Hudson III and wife Trisue; daughter, LaVerne M. Robinson and husband Larry; granddaughter, Maegan; two stepchildren, Ingrid and Kirk; numerous cousins, a brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, a devoted cousin and his wife, Bobby and Virginia Cameron; and a dear/best friend, Melba Carr. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Homer; a son, Ragin; brother, Nathaniel; mother, Lora; four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and numerous family members.
