Hector Horcasitas

Hector Jose Horcasitas, Jr. of Central, LA died in his home on May 5, 2023 at the age of 75. Hector is survived by his children Tricia Holifield (Kent) and Jason Horcasitas (Dara); grandchildren Hayden and Arlen Francois and Isaac Horcasitas; sisters Mimi Brewer (Gerry) and Julie Dupree (Bill); sister-in-law Nancy Guillory; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Vickie; parents Marjorie and Hector J. Horcasitas, Sr.; and brother-in-law Francis “Boo” Guillory.

Hector was a proud veteran of the United States Airforce Reserves and member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He thrived in the spotlight, often described as a “character” who was always ready to entertain others with a funny story and bring a smile to their faces with his antics. Hector’s greatest joy in life was watching his grandchildren grow and indulging them in any way he could get away with.

His fighting spirit in the face of health challenges earned him the nickname “Miracle Man,” and we would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and support staff who cared for him throughout the years. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9 from 5-7pm, with funeral services on Wednesday, May 10 at 11am.
