
Died Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 31, 1930 in Hofeim, Germany and after having retired from the U.S. Air Force he resided in Baton Rouge for the past 35 years where he went on to work and retire from Rhone-Poulon Chemical. Henry never met a stranger. He loved children and all animals and will be missed by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doreen Sims Diener; two daughters, Paulette Mayeux and fiancé, Stephen Johnson and Jackie Higdon and husband, Sam; a son, Jay Sims and wife, Sharon, eight grandchildren, Robin Annaloro and husband, Dr. Angelo Annaloro, Marcy Brown and husband, Joseph, Randall Mayeux and wife Karen, Ryan Saucier and wife Sara, Jaime Leach and Angelo, Caitlin Perrone and husband, Justin, Jenny Brown and husband John Mark, Kinnon Saucier, Samantha Esqueda and husband Albert and Jennifer Higdon, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria and Ernst Diener; brother, Ernst; grandson, Jay Sims, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert J. Mayeux. Visiting will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to give special thanks to Angela Jackson who was a special blessing to him for the last 2 months of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Aloysius School, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Baton Rouge, 70808 or to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane #A, Baton Rouge, 70810. Arrangements are being handled by Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street.
