"A retired BRPD School Crossing Guard and resident of Prairieville, Helen passed away on Thursday, February 02, 2017. She was 93 and a native of Ruth, MS. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Saturday, Feb. 04, from 10 am until religious services at noon. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit, MS. Helen is survived by three daughters, Sandra Boyd Lake, Linda Boyd Hoth and Glenda Boyd Allison; sister, Frances Roberts; two brothers, Clifford Smith and Claude Smith; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. "Joe" Boyd, Jr; daughter, Patricia Bezet; son, Kenneth Boyd; and eight siblings. Helen was a member of Don Avenue Baptist Church. She will be missed by many, including Putter, her beloved fur baby.
