
Helen H. Kuhlmann passed away at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at St. Clare Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. She was 83, a native of Vicksburg, Miss., former resident of Leoti, Kan., and longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She was a 1957 graduate of Wilton School of Cake Decorating, former president of Kansas Federation of Republican Women, both the American and International Who's Who Among Women, a certified substance abuse counselor, an ordained minister with Unity Church and a volunteer lecturer with numerous organizations. Her survivors include a sister, Ruth Hooker; her children, Jeff Kuhlmann, Jack Kuhlmann and wife Brenda, Casey Kuhlmann, Susan Stewart and husband Lonnie, Barbee Schiffelbein and husband Pat, and Kris Louque and husband Roy. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Kuhlmann Shepard. A memorial service will be held at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 16024 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, on Sunday, March 28, at 2 p.m., conducted by Greg Owen. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Magnolia United Methodist Church or the Red Cross.
