

A retired U.S. Customs Patrol Officer and former U.S Border Patrol Agent, Howard E. Lively died on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Baton Rouge, LA. He was 76, a native of Baton Rouge, resident of Greenwell Springs, LA, and former resident of Deming, NM. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1957-1960. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, February 19, from 5 pm until 7 pm. Religious services and burial will be held in Deming, NM, under the direction of Baca's Funeral Chapel, (575) 546-9671. Howard is survived by his wife of 13 years, Donna Albritton Lively; daughter, Carolyn Lively Gose and husband Michael; four sons, Michael Rhett Lively and wife Melissa, Eloite Miller Lively II and wife Lorenza, Glenn Emmett Lively and wife Miriam, and Joel Howard Lively and wife Sheree; thirty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Bennett Lively; parents, Lindsey C. and Zula Miller Lively; two sisters, Carol Jean Lassard and Margaret Davis; and two brothers, Lindsey and Eloite Lively. He was a member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church, Baker, LA; First Baptist Church, Deming, NM; and Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, Greenwell Springs, LA. Howard was a Bible scholar and a loyal man of God, a 1957 graduate of Baton Rouge High School and had attended LSU and was an avid Tiger fan. He will always be remembered for his loud and infectious laugh, his love of the scriptures, his love for old music and his love for the LSU Tigers.
