Ida S Guidry

Ida S. Guidry passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the age of 90. She was a native of Arnaudville, LA and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Ida loved to cook for friends and family, and always had an open door. She enjoyed LSU sports and playing bingo at The Lodge. But above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family. Ida is survived by her children, Sandra Guidry Odom, Donald Guidry and his wife, Diane, Sheran Guidry, Mary Ellen Guidry Wells and her husband, Calvin, and Sue Guidry Feigley and her husband, Stuart; grandchildren, Andrea Metcalf and her husband, Alan, Jason Paul Odom and his wife, Shelley, Christie Sorrell and her husband, David, Brad Thomas Guidry and his wife, Melissa, Ashley Stewart and her husband, Jeremy, Dustin Wells, Ryan Paul Wells and his wife, D’Ann, Dr. Mitchell Paul Feigley and his wife, Ashley, and Grace Feigley and Mark Stewart; great-grandchildren, Andrew Metcalf and his wife, Vanessa, Haley Metcalf, Jessica Cooley and her husband, Greg, Hunter, Roxanne and Charles Sorrell, Kelsey, Amy and Jack Odom, Ainsley, Addie and Brogan Paul Stewart, Payne Guidry, D.J. Bailey, Baylor and Dylan Wells, Beau Bennett, Owen Paul and Emmett Feigley, and Azalea Stewart; great-great-grandchildren, Cason and Odom Sorrell, Alaina Metcalf, Natalie Helvey, and Charlotte Belle Cooley; siblings, Adeline “Sis” Alleman, Ronald Schexnayder and his wife, Jane, Gerald Schexnayder and his wife, Kathy; and a host of other loving family members. Ida is preceded in death by the love of her life, Lionel Paul Guidry; parents, Daniel and Monala Schexnayder; brothers, George Schexnayder, Malcolm Schexnayder, Father Daniel Schexnayder, and Jimmy Ray Schexnayder. Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4826 Main St., Zachary, LA, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 10am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
