

A native of Addis and resident of Baton Rouge, Irene died in Baton Rouge on Friday, January 30, 2015. She was 91 and the former owner of Baum's Fine Pastries. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am celebrated by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Baum Landry and Tim and Geri Baum Terrio and Junior, a step-son and daughter-in-law, Merwyn "Chuck" Baum and Linda; four sisters, Rita Bujol, Deanie DeJean, Norma Didier and Lou Didier; ten grandchildren, Chris Landry, Jason Landry, Stacey Terrio, Janell Baum, Gail Baum, Jim Baum, Mike Baum, Charles Baum, Barbara Riggs and Danny Baum; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Irene was preceded in death by a grandchild, Geri Baum Heylinger; husband, Abraham Joseph Baum, Jr; parents, Jules and Cleora Altazin Templet; four brothers, Richard "Dick" Templet, Wilfred Templet, Jules Templet, Jr and Herbert "Herk" Templet; two sisters, Cloera "Pat" Ritchie and Edith Dugas; and two sons, Herman Baum and A.J. Baum, Jr. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Parish, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and was an avid bowler and card player.
