
Jack D. O'Neal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was born June 13, 1923, in Junction City, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church and an avid golfer. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Erline Pool O'Neal; son, Mike and wife Patty O'Neal; daughter, Jacky and husband Mike Burnette; grandchildren, Jason and wife Alice O'Neal, Lance and wife Melissa O'Neal, Kelly and husband Chris Kyle, Michelle and husband Jeremy Patt, and Jennifer Burnette; eight great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Ollie O'Neal, Billie Desser, Bebe Eakin, Richard O'Neal and Anita O'Neal. Memorial visitation at Broadmoor Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, on Thursday, Nov. 19, from noon until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Fred Wideman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103. A special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospice and Carpenter House.
