
A former longtime resident of Baton Rouge and resident of Denham Springs, he passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 68 and a native of Oklahoma City. Survived by his loving wife, Patsy M. Hamilton; three daughters, Patricia Kaye Hamilton, Marcie Lanne Hamilton Whitaker and husband Todd, and Wendy Roth Bryan and husband Robert Sr.; son, Louie Steven Roth Jr. and wife Michelle; three sisters, Billie H. Hughes and husband Jack, Judy H. Davis and husband Wayne, and Jenny Hamilton; two brothers, Bobby Gene Hamilton and wife Ethel, and Buddy Dean Hamilton and wife Joan; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Judie Hamilton; and 10 grandchildren, Colby Bryan, Trey Hood, Bridgette Hood, Trenton and Trevor Whitaker, Braiyden James Allen Whitaker, Lexie Roth, Landen and Lance Roth, and Jessica Degg. Preceded in death by his parents, Elgin C. and Agnes Hamilton; brothers, Joroy and Jerry Hamilton; niece, Paulette Hamilton; and granddaughter, Sophia Lanne Boniol. Pallbearers will be Patrick and John Hughes, Colby Bryan, Trey Hood, Todd Whitaker, Ronald Norton and Louie Roth Jr. He was a 1960 Istrouma High School graduate and a member of the state championship baseball team and a member of the former Brookstown Baptist Church. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Friday, May 6, from noon until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Fred Dyess. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
