James Anthony Moore

James Anthony “Tony” Moore passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, April 4, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Tony lived most of his adult life in Houston, Texas working for and retiring from Energy Transfer in 2021 where he worked many years with drafting pipeline records and eventually working his way up as Senior Manager over the Pipeline Records Department.

Tony always had a passion for antiques, watches, clocks and anything worth more than a dollar. Tony will always be remembered for his quiet humility and gift of humor and knowing how to say something very subtle to bring a smile and laughter to those around him

Tony is survived by his daughter, Meagan Christine Moore and his long-time junking partner, Rodney Swords along with siblings Chico Moore (Ann), Paula Moore, Tara Moore Andrepont, Michele Moore and numerous nieces and nephews along with very special friends, Karen Moore and Janice Primos and his favorite dog Dora. Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Bill Moore, Jr. and Ruby Lashute Moore.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 8th at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church 445 Marquette Ave Baton Rouge, LA 70806 with Visitation beginning at 1 pm, followed by Mass at 2 pm and interment at Green Oaks Cemetery following Mass.
