A retired East Baton Rouge Parish school teacher, having taught at the original Woodlawn High School for the last 20 years of his career, he died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 65, a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Services were held Monday, Dec. 12, with burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife, Helen Curtis Fleming; a son, J. Patrick Fleming IV; and a brother, Robert John Fleming. He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Fleming Jr. and Helen Kay Fleming. He was a past master of East Gate Lodge #452, F. and A.M. and St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church.
