

Tate, Jr., James L.James L. Tate, Jr. passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the age of 83. A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Baker, he was a veteran of the US Air Force serving for 21 years and after returning to Baton Rouge became a dispatcher for the Baton Rouge City Police from which he also retired. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Pauline M. Tate, a daughter; Karen A. Womack and husband Johnny, two sons; James L. Tate III and wife Kathy and Kevin A. Tate and wife Dana, six grandchildren; Matthew Tate and wife Kristin, Kristen McKey and husband Derek, Paulina Webb and husband Jonnie, Danielle Amorello and husband Timmy and Kevin Tate, Jr., four great-grandchildren; Reagan Tate, Collin Tate, Avery McKey and Oliver Webb. He was preceded in death by parents; James L., Sr. and Dora B. Tate, grandson; Jordan Ryan Sloan and sister; Joan T. Blackledge. Visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd starting at 5:00pm until memorial services at 6:00pm conducted by Pastor Jay Avance with visitation to follow after till 7:00pm. James was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Baker. The family wishes to give special thanks to Lane Memorial Home Health Nurses; Bobi, Lucy, Rebecca and Ashley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Parkinson Foundation.
