
"Janet Sue Jordan was born on February 15, 1953 and died January 22, 2019. She attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from Vanderbilt University and then LSU law school. She clerked for Judge Hugh E Brunson, 15th Judicial District Court for 7 years and then served as the Assistant District Attorney in the 15th District. Following that, she served more than 25 years as an attorney for the Louisiana House of Representatives with most of her time spent supporting the Judiciary Committee. She held her colleagues on the House legal staff as her closest friends and was very devoted to them as they were to her. She was a member of the American Bar Association and Louisiana Bar Association and a long-time board member of Utilities Holding, Inc. She is survived by: her brother, James Luther Jordan, III of Lincoln, Nebraska; her niece, Jordan Jones of Nashville, TN; and her nephews, Greg Jones (wife Allison) of Nashville, TN and Christopher Jones (wife Miwa) of Tokyo, Japan; along with 9 great nieces and nephews. The family would also like to acknowledge the love and care of Isaiah Gilmore and family. She was preceded into death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Luther Jordan, Jr (Marjorie) and an infant sister, Marjorie. She will also be met in the next life by her sister, Barbara and Barbara's husband Gary. A graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Saturday, January 26 at 11 AM with visitation following at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, from Noon until 2 PM.
