A self-employed retiree and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 2:50 a.m.Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge after a lengthy illness. He was 71 and a native of Rayville. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 12:30 p.m.until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Ken Carroll. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Paula Garvin McLemore; four daughters, Claudia McLemore Appel, Rebecca McLemore Boston, Lisa McLemore Smith and Melissa McLemore Messerman; sister, Ola McLemore; brother, Theo McLemore; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira McLemore. He was a graduate ofFerridayHigh School, a Mason and a golfer. He was a beloved grandfather and was known by all of his grandchildren as "GP."
