Jasper E. Harris

Jasper Ed Harris, born October 9, 1925 in Muskogee Oklahoma and resident of the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, La., passed away peacefully, Monday, October 5, 2015 at the age of 89. Mr. Harris was a long time resident of Houma, Louisiana, where he and his wife owned two businesses, Jay’s Electrical Contractors and Circle K Western Wear. Mr. Harris was a WWII and Pearl Harbor Survivor, as well as, a Mason & Shriner, loved to square dance, repair boots and shoes, fishing, hunting, and being outside with family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Kim Katrina Harris Denicola and husband, David; six grandsons, Justin W. Pauler and wife Debbie of St. Amant, Jonathan E. Pauler of Norfolk, Virginia, John E. Hernandez of Houston, Texas, Jay W. Hernandez of Houston, Texas, Nicholas D. Denicola of Baton Rouge, LA, Matthew M. Denicola of Baton Rouge, La. and two granddaughters, Jennifer B. Hernandez of Dallas, TX. And Megan M. Denicola of Baton Rouge, La. , four great grandchildren, Maeleigh Jane Pauler of St. Amant , Charlie H. Pauler of St. Amant, Roxanne B. Pauler of Norfolk, Virginia, Samantha Pauler of Norfolk Virginina and a great-grandson due soon. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lucille V. Harris, parents, MaeBelle and John Harris of Muskogee, Ok., two step-sons, Lynn Peter Hernandez of Vicksburg, Ms. and Johnny Lynn Hernandez of LaGrange, Tx. formally of Houma, La., three brothers, John Harris, Joe Harris, and Jim Harris all of Muskogee, Ok, and one sister, Helen Harris Noteware of Tulsa, Ok. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, La. 70815, on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 12 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the nursing and care staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor especially Ms. Lonnie, the nursing and care staff at The Louisiana War Veterans Home, and the nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Lake hospital especially Dr. Amy Giarruso, Dr. Vermaelen, Dr. Jon Jackson, Dr. Ben Barker with Hospital Medicine, Glenn Landry, Cindi Miller and everyone at the Palliative Medicine Services.
