Jean Vines

Jean Maclin Vines, native of Rockwall, TX and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 96. Jean was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Michael Blackard and husband Bob; Sherry Bennett; and Jan Drinkwater and husband John. Her grandchildren are Preston Chevalier, Nicole Chevalier, Paige Leonard, Mike Bennett, Ashley Foster, Jeffrey Mayne and Molly Evans. Her great grandchildren are, Peyton Leonard, Elizabeth Bennett, Miranda Bennett, Colton Foster, Ethan Evans, Abigail Evans and Colin Mayne. Her brothers are Bob Maclin and Sam Maclin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bess Maclin; husband, Seburn “Buck” Vines; son in law, Vernon Bennett; grandson, Scott Chevalier; and sisters, Norma Ray and Kay Todd. The family would like to express their appreciation to Lela Rucker and her family for all of their love, care, and support. Funeral Service will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 2pm conducted by Ted Martens. Jean was a board member for The Greater Baton Rouge Mental Health Association and The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
