
Jeanne Devall Lowry, 74, passed away Wednesday, September 24th at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. She was a loving mother, an adoring wife, devoted grandmother, and loyal friend and light to so many. Serving and giving were her nature and joy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Jim Murphy of Houston, Texas, and daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Johnny Clark of Franklin, Tennessee; and by her beloved grandchildren, Katie and Jax Murphy and Camryn and Chris Clark. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Means Lowry; her mother and father, Carrie Belle and Saunders Devall; and her sister, Ann Devall Leath. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended Louisiana State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, The Junior League of Baton Rouge, The Baton Rouge Assembly, The St. James Choir, Monday Bible Study, and was a renowned cook and gardener, who loved sharing her food and flowers. Her passion in life was music; she was an accomplished organist and avid bridge player. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge, 736 North Boulevard on Monday, September 29th from 9:30am until funeral services begin at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church- Genesis Musical.
