Jerry Wayne Redden, Sr., a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 24, 2014 at the age of 72. He was a member of the Local 582 for 37 years. He was a parishioner St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Lee Kennard Redden; sons, Jerry Redden, Jr., and Christopher Redden; grandchildren, Catherine, Victoria Lee, Christian, Lexie, and Stephen Redden; daughter-in-law, Dorian Redden; sisters, Sue Long, Joyce Wheat, and Paula Yelverton; brother, Robert Redden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Lee Redden; parents, Leonard and Grace Redden. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake service, led by Rev. Mark Carrol, pastor of Walker South Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
