Memorial services will be held for Jim C. “Butch” LaFleur, Jr. on July 24, 2021, 10:00am in the chapel of First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. Inurnment will then take place at the church columbarium followed by a gathering at the church reception center. Mr. LaFleur passed away on July 5, 2021 at the age of 80. Butch tirelessly worked as an electrician at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for 50 years. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps as well as the work he did at First United Methodist Church where he was honored with a service award in 2005. He also received a Golden Hammer award for his generous work with Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his brother, Richard LaFleur and wife Kathryn; sisters, Susan Deiker and husband Tom, Bonnie Flammang and husband Robert, Juanita Plauche and husband William and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Juanita LaFleur; brother, Murphy Michael LaFleur and sister, Catherine LaFleur. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
