

Jimmy Joseph Tassin, a native of LaPlace, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on May 7, 2025. He was a selfless husband, father, PawPaw, brother, and uncle who dedicated his life to his family and loved ones. Jimmy was a devoted husband, a proud and supportive dad and PawPaw, and a passionate LSU fan. He loved his dogs Sadie and Simba, who always helped him relax even in his final moments, and he will be reunited with his previous pups Dukie and Duchess.
Jimmy was proud to have served as a US Marine. His service to his country was a testament to his unwavering commitment and bravery. He carried the values of honor and duty throughout his life, instilling them in his children and grandchildren. Jimmy's work ethic was unparalleled; he approached every task with diligence and dedication, always striving for excellence. Whether it was his professional endeavors or personal projects, Jimmy's meticulous attention to detail and relentless pursuit of perfection were evident in everything he did.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Wendy, who stood by his side for half a century, sharing countless memories and moments of joy. He is also survived by his kids and grandkids, in whom he took immense pride, always there to celebrate their achievements and support and encourage them through life's challenges. His daughter Jill and her husband Dennis, son Russell and his wife Erica, and son Scott and his wife Celeste with their children his beloved grandkids Tyler and Heidi, will forever cherish the wisdom and love he imparted to them. Jimmy's siblings, Diane Matthews and Judy Walden, also survive him, holding dear the bond they shared.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Theresa Tassin, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife. His legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication will live on through his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, LA., on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 10:30 am until Funeral Mass time of 11:30 am. Interment will follow at the LA National Cemetery, 303 W Mt. Pleasant Zachary Rd., Zachary, LA. 70791.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Jimmy’s favorite charity, the Wounded Warrior Project, reflecting his lifelong commitment to supporting fellow veterans.
