
Joe M. Carpenter died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Winnsboro and lived in Baton Rougefor most of his life. He was 85, served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was a pharmaceutical representative for McNeil Pharmaceuticals for 38 years. Joe was a member ofFirstUnitedMethodistChurchfor 56 years. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Carpenter; a daughter, Lisa and her husband Billy Herron of Long Beach, Miss; a son, Ware and his wife Suzanne Carpenter; a brother, Earl Carpenter; and four grandchildren, Laura, Andrew and Matthew Carpenter, and Lucy Herron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ruby Carpenter; and treasured aunt, Myrtle Davis. Visitation at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from noon until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Interment will follow atGreenoaksMemorial Park. Pallbearers will be Andrew Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter, Billy Herron, Shelby Morse, Dominic Michelli and Howard Bolton. Honorary pallbearers are Jay Garcia, Teddy Scott, Joe Cronan and Charles Beard. Special thanks to Teri Lee, hospice nurse, and loving caregivers, Esther, Rose, Michele and Carrie.
