

Joseph Edward “Joey” Herron, 55, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Livingston, after a courageous battle with cancer passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at The Carpenter House. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Joey loved the outdoors, and cherished his trips to Grand Isle where he could enjoy his favorite pastime—fishing. He worked for Stebbins Engineering for 25 years and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. Joey is survived by his wife of 16 years Karen Herron; sons: Joseph Herron, Jr., Matthew Herron, DJ Douget, and Jace Herron; mother, Dorlis H. Ritchie; siblings: Bonnie Wesley and husband Emile, and Keith Herron and wife Dayna; mother-in-law, Fern White; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joey is preceded in death by his father, Rodney H. Herron; grandparents: Edward and Myrtle Bailey, and Bernice Eddy and Dennis Herron; and step-father, James Ritchie. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 8am until time of services at 10am. Interment will follow in Gateway Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Herron, Jr., Matthew Herron, DJ Douget, Jace Herron, Keith Herron, Jeremy Wesley, Mike Craft, and Darryl Craft. The family would like to especially thank Stebbins Engineering and Joe Branch for their love, support and dedication to Joey over the years. Donations may be made in Joey’s honor to St. Joseph Carpenter House.
