On December 28, 2023, John Constantine Demopulos entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by his loved ones. John lived his life with a steadfast devotion to his family, church, friends, and community. He touched the lives of so many through his passion for music and worship. John’s character could be defined by his unwavering faith and selflessness in all aspects of his life. John was also a devoted member of Victory Harvest Church for over 25 years.
John was born in Shreveport, LA on May 14, 1949, and graduated from Bryd High School where he fulfilled his love for sports as their starting quarterback. His passion for sports continued throughout his life by supporting his families’ sporting events as a proud Father and Papou. After graduation, John moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU before taking a leap of faith in pursuit of business ownership in the insurance industry. He started Banner Insurance Agency, and over the next 40 years, successfully co-owned Banner with his business partner, friend, and brother in Christ, Greg Casiello.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Constantine John “Gus” Demopulos, and Mother, Elaine Romell Demopulos and is survived by his sisters Harriet Austin and Diane DePrang; his daughters Rachael Giamanco, Angela Grandin, Elizabeth Johnson, Sarah Demopulos; his grandchildren Aydon Giamanco, Braxton Constantine Demopulos, Jackson Giamanco, Brooks Giamanco, Brody Grandin, John “Asher” Grandin, Michaela Demopulos, Sloan Grandin, Noah Dillon, and Wellington Grandin; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers: Aydon Giamanco, Braxton Demopulos, Jackson Giamanco, Brooks Giamanco, Greg Casiello, Mark Kersey, Mark Lavigne, and Dennis Austin. Honorary Pallbearers: Brody Grandin, John “Asher” Grandin, and Noah Dillon.
Funeral services will be held Wed. January 3, 2024, at Victory Harvest Church, 3953 N. Flannery Rd Baton Rouge, LA 70814, with Visitation from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and Memorial Service from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Burial service to immediately follow at Green Oaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
