Oh, what a fun and beautiful time we had in The Glade. Lots of John's delicious grilling, stories, and jokes, always with a little b.s. laced in!! John and Lisa have always been such gracious and generous hosts! See you there before long, Lisa, and we all know John will be joing us in spirit. John, you live on~

John was a great friend . We shared  many memorable times together diving, fishing, sailing, and just “shooting the breeze”. I know that he will be missed. I will miss him.        Our sympathies to Lisa and John’s entire family. Sincerely, Jim Gilbert and Shanwood

Oh Johnny, how I'm going to miss you!  We've had more fun and adventures than the law allows.  Dancing and singing in the mountain moon light, snorkeling on a coral reef in Belize, eating hot key lime pie on an island in the rain forest with half-naked natives running around.  

My most precious possessions have come from you.  My hand carved "Glade Forest" wall clock "It's 5:00 Somewhere," you know that clock is eerily correct twice a day and boy have I used it.  Let's not forget your scientific atmospheric weather station ROCK, or the "For Complaint Department Press The Red Button" course the red button was painted on a mouse trap.  

Johnny boy, you did not fade away!  You lived up to my motto "It's Better To Burn Out Than Fade Away".  I'll try to keep it going  and drag your sweet wife and my dearest friend along.  

John had a great sense of humor, and was a great friend, and brother-in-law. We had many fun times. God Bless you John . We will miss you greatly. Love, Rick, Tracy, and Donald.

The San Juan Nat’l Forest in Colorado was an unlikely place to meet this larger than life character, John Fontenot from Baton Rouge, but a very special friendship was formed quickly first with John and later with Lisa. Over the summer Brenda and I would  listen for John’s ATV coming down our driveway and his calling out ayeee as he tied his rope to the hitching post. John always had a joke or three to share, again, but we never had a dull time.  John was our very close friend and we will keep his memory alive through photos, stories and jokes.

Lisa,

Little did we know, that meeting you and John at the Glade Ranch HOA meeting would flourish into such a wonderful friendship.  Dave, my husband, and I learned that John and Lisa were from Baton Rouge.  Then we realized that John may be a distant relative of mine since we grew up in the same area of south Louisiana and some of our relatives shared the same last names.  Of course, the other commonality was that we were all LSU Tiger fans.

As we got to know John and Lisa better, we visited at each others' cabins.  We had so much fun with all the neighbors at the Glade.  Whoever happened to be there, would get together for the potlucks and celebrations.  It didn't take long to determine that John and Lisa were "the life of the party."  John was dressed for the occasion at the July 4th celebration as seen in the picture.

Sometimes when we visited my sister in Baton Rouge, we would invite John and Lisa to the crawfish boil.  It was fun to hear John speaking French with my uncle.  John was so kind to us.  Whatever the project at the cabin, he always offered to help Dave.

John lived a good complete life and  now his suffering has ceased.  John will be missed by family and friends.  We are saddened by his departure, but assured that his spirit is lifted to his eternal resting place in Heaven.

John was a super nice guy and we were very blessed to have him as a brother-in-law.    His door as always open to family and friends.  We will forever love and miss him.

I remember Uncle John and Aunt Lisa’s wedding almost as though it were yesterday. There was so much joy, and of course, amazing Cajun seafood! Although I have lived states away, visits always proved jovial and with the warmest hospitality around. Even my husband, Kevin, who only met Uncle John once, remembers him as the nicest and most down to earth fun-spirited guy. What will always mean most to me is that he made my Aunt Lisa smile—Aunt Lisa is one of my most favorite people on the planet because of her kindred-spirit. My heart goes out to Lisa and Josh and Holly and family with whom I have enjoyed beautiful encounters. My heart is with you all now in your grief and in your celebration of a life so richly lived. Cheers to Uncle John—thank you for making this world a more interesting place filled with your love!
