
John William Langlois Sr., born March 14, 1934, in Baton Rouge, and a resident of Greenwell Springs, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, March 11, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Saturday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 1 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. J. Clifton Hill. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Mr. Langlois is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Frances; son and daughter-in-law, John "Peanut" and Polly Langlois; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ronnie Stephens, Judy and Kyle Percle, Jackie and Bob Brumfield, and Jeanne and Frank Bravata Jr.; eight grandchildren, Jami Decareaux, Matthew and Jason Marchand, Ronnie Stephens Jr., Derek, DeWayne and Rebecca Percle, and Rylee Paige Langlois; and four great-grandchildren, Treston and Trey Decareaux, Emily Grace Marchand and Brennan Percle. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Pete Langlois; and a sister, Sybil LeSage. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Michael Langlois; parents, Frank V. Langlois Sr. and Mary Enola Langlois; brother and sister-in-law, Frank V. Langlois Jr. and Pumpkin Langlois; and a twin sister, Joan Helen Langlois. Pallbearers will be grandsons R.J. Decareaux and Douglas Langlois. He was a member of the Antique Car Club and Baton Rouge Model A Club. >
