
A loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather, John died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was an insurance agent, a native of Neptune, N.J., and resident of Baton Rouge. He was 63 and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Monday was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation resumes on Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin. Interment with military honors will follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cynthia Jandle Madonna; daughters, Tina Madonna McLin and husband Keith, and Cathy Madonna Sicard and husband Troy; son, John Stephen Madonna Jr. and wife Rebecca; daughter, Nicole Madonna Daigle and husband Corey; grandchildren, Joshua McLin, Jonathan McLin, Justin McLin, Amanda Sicard, Lauren Sicard, Sadie McCormick, Austin Madonna, Paije Madonna and Dax Giovanni Daigle; great-grandson, Gavin Thomas Behringer; brothers, Ralph Louis Madonna and Louis Alberto Madonna Jr.; and sisters, Diane Caruso and Rose Macauley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Raphael Madonna Sr. and Catharine King Boyd. We would like to extend our great appreciation to his many health care providers, with special thanks to Dr. Kirk Mullins, Dr. Brent Campanella, Dr. Robert Landry, Dr. Donald Richardson and Superior Home Health. Pallbearers will be Mark Belgard Sr., James Belgard, Danny Primes Jr., Francis Belgard, David Jandle, Chad Broussard, Michael Belgard and Kenny Campbell. Special thanks to the Rev. Jerry Martin and Bill Dugas for their spiritual support.
