Jordan Irene Donnelly

Beloved daughter, child of God, born Jan. 31, 1990, in Baton Rouge, she passed away and was called home to her Father in heaven and beloved family members waiting there on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 18 and a 2008 graduate of LSU Laboratory School (University High). Jordan was a pre-med freshman at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was dedicated to saving the lives of others and at age 16 made the decision to donate her organs. Because of that decision, Jordan's gift so far has aided the healing of at least five families and they can rejoice that their loved ones are alive and with them. Jordan was a vibrant, intelligent and artistic young woman who was a positive influence on everyone she knew. She was a hard worker, pursued her goals with enthusiasm and excelled in every endeavor. She was a joy to be around and was full of life and spirit. Jordan was an integral part of the lives of her parents, her brother and sister, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She lovingly nurtured them and served them in ways large and small. Jordan's own words at the time of her graduation from high school were, "Our lives are before us, our past is behind us, but our memories are forever with us." Jordan's memory will be forever with us. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Sept. 17, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at First Presbyterian Church, 763 North Blvd., on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Survived by her parents, Alan Brent and Linda Olsson Donnelly; maternal grandparents, Robert T. and Zora M. Olsson; paternal grandmother, Gloria Lee Donnelly; brother, Daniel Taft Donnelly; sister, Alyssa Rae Donnelly; uncles and aunts, Don and Chrissie Olsson, Laurel Olsson, George Jr. and Leslie Whitteker, Stephen and Cheryl Donnelly, Larry Donnelly, Lenny Strehle, Cheryl Strehle, John and Marilyn Grindell, Keith Strehle, Jody and Shelli Lemoine, and Donna Donnelly; cousins, Jonathan Tyler and Lillian Iva Whitteker, Brian and William C. Olsson, Christian and Rachael Donnelly, Brittany and Brandon Donnelly, Courtney and Valerie Strehle, Alicia and James Strehle, and special cousin and best friend, Lynn Ashley Whitteker. Pallbearers will be Daniel T. Donnelly, Jonathan T. Whitteker, McGhee Woolf, Michael Jordan, Caleb Neames and Chard Richard.
