

Joseph Calvin Jaubert, 82, a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Baton Rouge for the last 37 years, died on Saturday, July 20, at 3:50 p.m. at Carpenter House. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jean Dupuis Jaubert; and daughters, Jodie Debetaz and husband Ray of Baton Rouge, and Jaclyn Buhler and husband Jay of Central. He had five grandchildren, Gabriel Joseph Mayeux, Joseph Russell "Joey" Debetaz, Caitlin Nicole Mayeux, John Rivers "Jack" Buhler, and Emily Grace Debetaz. He is also survived by his sister, Doris S. DeWoody of Sulphur. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Isola Jaubert; brother, Frank S. Greene; and sister, Isola "Fifi" Jaubert. Joe held a Bachelor's degree and advanced studies in Theology and History from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He was the founding pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Opelousas. Joe retired from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in 2000, where he worked in Human Resources. Joe was a member of St. Thomas More parish. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 24, from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am celebrated by Rev. Cleo Milano.
