

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Scott Plunket; parents, Joseph and Alma Plunket; grandsons, Joseph Aaron Tramel and Bryan Austin Plunket; brothers, Lamar, Bill, and George Plunket; sisters, Maureen, Yvonne, and Mary.
He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Connie Charlton Plunket; daughters, Lori (Will) Tramel, Darney and Diana Plunket; grandchildren, Blaine (Laura) Tramel, Britney Tramel, Charlton (Chelsea) Tramel, Quinn Kelly, and Hodge Plunket; great-grandchildren, Bradley Olivier, Brayden Cooper, Kate, Claire, Will, and Annie Tramel; brothers, Bob and Mack Plunket; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jay was a faithful minister of the Lord at Goodwood Church of Christ. He was a skilled fisherman and an avid sports fan, of course LSU being #1. Jay started working for McDonald's in 1969 and proudly worked till his retirement. He loved his employees and the feeling was mutual.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Goodwood Church of Christ, 10715 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with a funeral to follow. Burial will take place at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge. Services will be officiated by his favorite son in-law, Will Tramel. LSU attire is welcome.
