Joseph Cooper Thibodeaux was born in Baton Rouge, LA, as one of thirteen children. He graduated from Catholic High School and married his late wife, Marjorie Grimm Thibodeaux, at age 17. By the time he was 21, Joseph was a father of four daughters, though, sadly, the last two passed away at birth. Joseph served in the US Navy from October 1953 to October 1961, and he worked as a plumber and AC repairman for over 40 years. He retired from Lambert’s Heating and Air. Joseph loved to hunt and would go every weekend on Thanksgiving from Friday to Sunday. He also enjoyed fishing and a good cold beer. But his main joy in life was to please his wife, as he always knew, “happy wife, happy life.”
Joseph was a longtime resident of Zachary, where he passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 87. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Albert (Joey) of Zachary and Tina Cristina of Prairieville; grandchildren, Nickie Paul (Cliff), Kayla Gueho (BJ), and Chad Fleniken (Nicole); and great grandchildren, Baylee, Lincoln, and Wyatt Gueho and Cohen Fleniken.
A visitation for Joseph will be held on Monday, June 19, at 10 am until funeral service at noon at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (11000 Florida Blvd). Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Joey Albert, BJ Gueho, Chad Fleniken, Pierre Thibodeaux, Jeff Hughes, and Andre Thibodeaux.
