

"Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018. He was born July 30, 1927 in Baton Rouge, La. and attended Catholic High School. A WWII Veteran he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Crenshaw in the Pacific Ocean 1944-46. He was formerly employed at Exxon. Former owner and co-owner of Hollywood Cleaners, and Portable Machine Works, retired from Plant Machine Works. Devout Catholic, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was a Certified machinist/mechanic. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, wood working. He was an avid LSU football fan. He truly enjoyed life. Predeceased by his father Joseph Allen Thompson, Sr. and mother Rosa Rentrop Thompson, and his wife Bernice Baker Thompson. He is survived by his 4 children, Connie T. Leteff, Dennis D. Thompson, Gayle Samaha Catlett, Robert W. Thompson and their spouses, grandchildren Derek Naquin, Felicia T. Gremillion, Vincent Samaha, Hayley N. Badeaux, Elliott Thompson, Vivian Samaha and Brandi Thompson and their spouses and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sister Mary Sue Bryant. Catholic mass and services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, or Baton Rouge Food Bank.
