Joy Harvey

Harvey Bennett, Joy (Sissy), born January 23, 1947 was a resident of Port Allen, La. Joy passed away February 21, 2013 at the age of 66. She was an excellent cook, loved to bake, and was very artistic. She was also an USAF Veteran. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Harvey of Port Allen, La; son, Brian Harvey and wife Tammy of Port Allen, La; granddaughters, Kayla Harvey and Kyleigh Harvey; grandson, Travis Thibodeaux; brothers, Roger Bennett, Rick Bennett, and Mike Bennett; sisters, Mary Gilbert, Shelby Bennett, Shana McGuinn, Catherine Garza, and Becky Easley, and a very special sister-in-law, Evelyn Bennett. Preceded in death by her husband Walter G. (Bud) Harvey; parents Richard and Violet Bennett; and brother, Dwayne Bennett. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Saturday March 2, 2013 at 9:00 am in the chapel by Rev Shawn Ostoj. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services of Baton Rouge or The Carpenter House of Baton Rouge.
