
Joyce Darensbourg Irvine, 84, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010. She was the youngest daughter of Sadie Honore Darensbourg and Henry Joseph Darensbourg, both natives of Louisiana. She leaves behind her husband, Charles Irvine, also a native of Baton Rouge, with whom she spent 62 years; two daughters, Dianne Irvine Fleet and husband Warren, of Baton Rouge, and Charlene Irvine Turner and husband John, of Stoughton, Mass.; a sister, Sybil Darensbourg DeCuir; two grandchildren, Sean Turner and Jenna Turner Blue; two nieces, Tandra DeCuir Schwamberg and Toni DeCuir Guerin; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an older sister, Clara Belle Juge Bergeron. The family is extremely grateful to all the friends, relatives, neighbors and health care providers who have supported them through this difficult time of her illness and death. She loved spending time with family and friends, and will be missed by many. Visitation at St. Jude Catholic Church on Monday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge or the American Heart Association Arrangements by Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St.
