Judy Bond Stewart Sweeney

Judy Bond Stewart Sweeney passed away on May 12, 2016 at the age of 72. Judy was a lady with a big personality and a bigger heart. She was fun loving, and her wit and humorous take on life were a gift she shared with all. Everyone who knew her has a favorite Judy story to tell. Burdened with more than most in life, she always faced her challenges and managed to move forward with grace and determination. A native of Harrisonburg and resident of Baton Rouge, Judy was an LSU graduate. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Carroll (Gary) and grandchildren Grant and Camille Carroll, her brother Richard Bond of New Orleans, and many loving family members and dear friends. Preceded in death by her first husband Virgil Grant Stewart and her second husband Howard Kevin "Woody" Sweeney, and her parents Kathryn Trichel "Kitty" Bond and Richard Ezra "Izzy" Bond. Pallbearers will be Kevin Sweeney, Neil Sweeney, Michael Stewart, Steve Gibson, Joe Gibson, Jim Hooper, and Bobby McHale. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Her family would like to thank Dr. Sreekanth Vasireddy and his staff for his compassionate and kind care over the years. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Tuesday at 1 pm and will continue until funeral services at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
